Video: Earth, Wind & Fire – You Want My Love ft. Lucky Daye

Do you recall the music that played in the basement with the blue light that made complete strangers fall in love with each other like long-lost lovers? This is exactly what you get with “You Want My Love,” the sensual duet from OG soul pioneers Earth, Wind, & Fire and contemporary sultry crooner Lucky Daye. “You Want My Love” was written by Earth, Wind, & Fire and Lucky Daye.

Despite the fact that the track was published as the summer was starting to wind down, the single’s video was just released this week (October 13), and it features a blend of old and new R&B. This song is a reworking of the band’s all-time hit that topped the charts back in 1975 called “Can’t Hide Love.” The atmosphere shifts from blazing hot to smooth and calm in less than three minutes and forty-five seconds, showcasing the authenticity of juke joints from the 1960s.

With the release of “You Want My Love,” Earth, Wind & Fire have made their first appearance in the top 10 of Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart in nearly 30 years. It made its debut at number one on R&B radio. Produced by Babyface and Demonte Posey, with additional production by Lucky’s enticing vocals, this song is a multigenerational treasure thanks to its recognizable chords and bass melody, as well as its alluring vocals.

After the song was made available to the public, EWF’s Philip Bailey stated, “I am really hyped about this all-star collaboration […] It was a privilege to work alongside these two superstars, and I have no doubt in my mind that our collaboration has resulted in a product that will be successful in every aspect.

This marks the first time that Earth, Wind, and Fire have worked together with Daye, and we certainly hope that it won’t be the last.
