With the new single “Letters,” Monica is resuming her R&B album teasers. The sultry album is the next release from her much-anticipated album Trenches, which will be released later this year. It will be the first album released under her imprint MonDeenise Music.

The intimate ode depicts her lover reflecting on her love for them. She sings, “Writing you this letter in my feelings.” Just hearing your voice on the phone makes me feel overwhelmed. “Boy, you know we locked in my heart locked down. I swear I can’t find anyone else to fit your crown,” you say.

The perceptible love note is reputed to be devoted to her long-lasting affection, C-Murder — who’s been in jail for over 20 years. The allegation has neither been confirmed nor refuted by Monica.
