Video: Dawn Richard – Babe Ruth
In her brand-new “Babe Ruth” music video, Dawn Richard considers her grandeur. The dance-ready track is accompanied by sophisticated choreography in her self-directed video. The film also includes old footage of Richards and the renowned baseball star.
The New Orleans native and her dancing partner Sofie Lken work up a sweat while hitting each eight-count to amplify the confident lyrics while dressed in beige monochrome clothing and six-inch heels.
Richard brags in the second line of the song, “Got the chocolate/ Got more nuts than ni**as out here.” People refer to me as Babe Ruth because “I knock the sh*t out of the park.”
“Babe Ruth” is a reference to Richard’s time as an All-Star Softball catcher, according to her press release:
Richard states, “I wanted to work with more female producers and DJs. “I approached Gina Jeanz to ask if she would collaborate with me on this single since I really like what she’s doing. We wanted to create a combination of noises that made you want to shake your a**, so Gina Jeanz, Wes, and I worked together on that.
