Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice have rejoined for the Barbie soundtracked single “Barbie World” — with an example from the 1997 raving success “Barbie Girl,” by Aqua.
The collaborators on “Princess Diana (Remix)” made the announcement on Saturday, June 10, that their latest musical effort would be released on June 23, less than a month before the world premiere of the movie.
While Spice wrote “bad like da barbie” on her Instagram account, the self-described Barbie teased, “It’s BARBIE B!CH If you still in doubt.” Due to the fact that the two can be seen dressed up in their photo together, it also appears that “IceNika” has already shot a video to accompany the song.
Minaj posted a video of herself getting ready for their alleged video shoot, complete with two large hair bows in her curly pigtails.
Riot, Ice Spice’s longtime collaborator, produced the song, and Aqua is listed as a writer alongside Minaj and Ice Spice.
Beside Minaj’s expected fourth collection delivering on October 20, “Barbie World” is accessible for pre-save now in front of Barbie’s debut on July 21.
The film, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie, Issa Rae, America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, Ariana Greenblatt, Rhea Perlman, and others, has an official trailer below. On Twitter, Nicki also released a personal “trailer” for their upcoming collaboration.
