First Afrobeats Melody To Arrive at #1 On Pop Radio – Rema & Selena Gomez’s ‘Calm Down’

Because they have now entered the record books, Selena Gomez and Rema have a reason to celebrate.

“Calm Down” officially rises to the top spot on the Mediabase pop radio airplay chart this week.

It was able to accomplish this with 17,594 spins from April 30 to May 6. By 448, that number is higher than the count from the week before.

The song officially becomes the first Afrobeats song to ever reach number one on the pop airplay chart thanks to the spins that enabled it to do so.

It also marks Selena’s sixth and Rema’s first singles to do so. Her first since 2019’s “Lose You To Love Me.”
