Video: Victoria Monét – On My Mama

Victoria Monét, this year’s valedictorian, is a product of the same school as Beyoncé, Ciara, and even Ma, as seen by the eagerly awaited video for her smash hit, “On My Mama.”

The singer-songwriter pays homage to HBCU culture, the Divine Nine Black sororities and fraternities, street style with her Girbaud jeans and big white tees, meme culture, and the best of the early 2000s in the nostalgic, southern-inspired video.

The captivating music video, which was directed by Child and choreographed by Sean Bankhead, serves as a remembrance of the crucial time when underground southern music first gained recognition on a global scale.
