Video: Nas – Black Magic

Nas turns down “Black Magic” in the new music video for his most popular song.

The renowned emcee inserts a disclaimer criticising mysticism in the new Razak Ologunebi-directed video. The Queens veteran declared at the beginning of the clip, “I gotta emphasise, I ain’t down with that mystic stuff.”

Nas may be seen seeking to protect a young woman from bad spirits throughout the video. As she starts to feel mental and spiritual conflict, the woman seems to be possessed and driven by desire and avarice. After that, Nasir performs an exorcism-like ritual to exorcise her inner demons. Nasty Nas uses the song’s lyrics to describe the character’s involvement with mystic arts.

Jones’ most recent album, Magic 2, contains the song “Black Magic.” On July 21, 2023, the follow-up to Nas’ original 2021 LP was made available. It is the fifth Nas project that Hit-Boy has executively produced. The LP’s eleven songs include appearances by 50 Cent and 21 Savage as guests.
