Video: Gang Starr – Family and Loyalty (feat. J.Cole)

The Gang Starr track “Family and Loyalty,” which features contributions from J. Cole, is the group’s first release in 16 years and their first without Guru, who passed away in 2010. DJ Premier breathed new life into Gang Starr with this track.

On Wednesday (October 2), the visual for the hard-hitting tune was released, and DJ Premier used it as an opportunity to honour the legacy of his partner.

The graphics were directed by Fab 5 Freddy and shot in the centre of Harlem in the neighbourhood of Harlem. As he made his way uptown, Preemo displayed the strength of his links to the community. The film begins with more recent photos of Guru, but it also frequently cuts to older ones. Throughout the course of the video, we also see Guru’s son, Keith Casim, who is now 19 years old.

In the conclusion of Cole’s film, he can be seen spewing raps through a laptop. in a public basketball facility after he had been training on his deadly jumper for a while.

Preem has released PRhyme and PRhyme 2, both of which include Royce the 5 as a featured artist, since Guru’s sad death in 2010 due to cardiac arrest.
