Video: City Girls – Twerk ft. Cardi B

Because it is written, it must be done, and in the music video for The City Girls‘ song “Twerk,” there is a lot of moving around going on.

The music video for the tune that features Cardi B has a number of twerkers from all over the world who were invited to compete in a competition and show off their skills. The competition took place a year ago. The grand prize for the winner is $50,000. Not only was the winner “fluffed out,” but also the female contestant with the most impressive talents was shown at the very end of the video.

In other parts of the music video, Yung Miami and Cardi are shown dancing on a beach and on a yacht while covered from head to toe in jungle body paint (Miami as a zebra and Cardi as a tiger, respectively). They also appear to be shaking it with the best of them. They guide the group of dancers through a variety of settings, not a single one of which includes the presence of a male, in order to give them the opportunity to reclaim their sexuality and live their most bootylicious lives without interference from men. While JT is rapping, the group dances in front of a mural depicting an MC who is currently behind bars.

The actual song has been streamed more than 215 million times, and it can be found on the album titled Girl Code, which was released by the duo. However, despite the fact that they became nationally known after being featured on Drake’s song “In My Feelings,” the Floridians have established themselves as independent entities in their own right.
