Video: Beyoncé – Otherside

Beyoncé has released standalone versions of two tracks that were originally included on the album The Lion King: The Gift and the accompanying music video Black Is King. In its initial run, the short film known as Black Is King was made available to the public on July 31, 2020. Beyoncé is credited with writing, directing, and executive producing this film, which has a narrative structure that is comparable to that of “The Lion King.” In conjunction with the passing of one year since the publication of Lemonade, the vocalist behind that album has created music videos for the songs “Mood 4 Eva” and “OTHERSIDE.”

The song “Mood 4 Eva” features her husband, Jay-Z, as well as Childish Gambino and Oumou Sangaré. The video is a colourful and opulent showcase that features luxury clothing, vivid scenery, high-end jewelry, and top-shelf champagne. The more sensitive episode “OTHERSIDE” involves cameos from the Carter family’s youngest children, Rumi and Sir Carter, who are just four years old and are seen only very infrequently.

Blue Ivy, Pharrell Williams, Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong’o, Wizkid, and Kelly Rowland are just a few of the celebrities who make cameo appearances in the whole video album. Tiwa Savage, Saint Jhn, Tierra Whack, and many other artists are included on the actual album titled “The Gift,” which was released a whole year before the film. A deluxe edition of Black Is King was also released, and in that edition, Kendrick Lamar and Burna Boy were added to the roster of featured artists.
