Beyoncé has made her long-awaited comeback with brand new music, kicking off her Renaissance era with the release of her new track “BREAK MY SOUL.” Beyoncé, Tricky Stewart, and The Dream all contributed to the production of the pulsating house music, which explores themes of overcoming adversity and finding one’s independence. Big Freedia is also featured on the track, which samples her song “Explode” from the album Just Be Free that was released in 2014. Additionally, the music samples synths from Robin S.’s iconic house smash “Show Me Love.”

Queen Bey proclaims, “You said you outside, but you ain’t that outside,” after singing through the deliverance from a miserable job, and finding new footing, in the aftermath of the song.

Big Freedia’s contribution to the song’s background is an exhortation for listeners to let go of whatever is holding them back.

The instruction to “Release ya anger, release ya mind/Release ya job, release the time/Release ya trade, release the stress/Release the love, forget the rest” is intended to serve as a test that must be passed before one may achieve perfect enlightenment.

On Twitter, the New Orleans Bounce artist remarked that “it feels surreal to be on the track with the Queen Beyonce.” Beyonce is known as “Queen.” A prior collaboration between Big Freedia and Beyoncé can be found on 2016’s “Formation.” “I want to reiterate how honored I am to be a part of this momentous occasion. I’m forever grateful lord.” She begged for help with a series of emojis before pleading, “someone please catch me.”
