In their brand-new “Masculine” video, J Hus and Burna Boy give fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse at a historic evening. The video, which was made public on Thursday (August 10), shows scenes from Burna Boy’s sold-out performance during the London stop of his Love, Damini Tour.
The black-and-white video begins with a sight of the two performers exchanging enthusiastic backstage greetings. After various pre-show antics, such as push-up competitions, handshakes, and photo ops, the pair reunites in front of the huge audience and performs the collaboration single from Beautiful And Brutal Yard.
Hus raps over production from Levi Lennox and TSB, saying, “See, I love to play the villain, I like to make a killing. It wasn’t my bredrin that bunned him, they said it must’ve been/ Man stand tall, man masculine/ Anywhere he go, he wanna blast the ting/ Blast that bastard pikin, bun everyone, man can’t just start pickin’.”On that night, the “Last Last” singer also invited a number of other performers to perform in honour of the historic occasion. “My dream has always been to bring together people from all walks of life. I’m grateful to London for making it possible for me to perform at my greatest performance yet! Shout out to my family, Stormzy, @theuglygram, @santandave, and @popcaanmusic. We Are Leaving A Mark That Will Last Forever. Love, Damini,” the nollywood star from Nigeria posted on Instagram.
Naira Marley, Jorja Smith, CB, Villz, Popcaan, Boss Belly, and Drake were just a few of the notable guests the Black Butter Records signee brought on board for Beautiful And Brutal Yard. The latter made an appearance on the album’s debut song, “Who Told You.” The LP eventually rose to the top of the UK’s Official Albums Chart.
