Video: The Weeknd - Nothing Is Lost

The official music video for The Weeknd’s song “Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)” from the Avatar: The Way of Water soundtrack has been made available. The song was composed by the record-breaking artist and produced by Swedish House Mafia and Simon Franglen, who also wrote the film’s musical score. It plays over the end credits of the sequel.

The Toronto musician can be seen in the Quentin Deronzier-directed video among the Na’vi people who race through fire to reach an underwater world and the blue-lit landscape.

The Weeknd has been selected for the 2023 Oscars’ “Nothing Is Lost” shortlist. In the event that it receives a nomination, it will be the celebrated performer’s second Oscar consideration following his 2015 candidate “Earned It” from Fifty Shades of Grey.

“It’s a present. It’s a good thing. When I was writing the theme song, Jim [James Cameron], [producer] Jon [Landau], and Simon [Franglen] really made me feel like I was the only one who could do this song, the 32-year-old singer recalled to The Hollywood Reporter.
