Video: Lil Baby & Lil Durk - Voice of the Heroes

The rap community is currently holding its breath in anticipation of the release of Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s joint album, Voice of the Heroes; nevertheless, the duo has provided fans with a brief moment of relief by releasing the music video for the song with the same name.

The video, which was directed by Daps and filmed in Baby’s old neighborhood of Oakland City in the southwest part of Atlanta, portrays the joyful moments that occur in lower-income areas despite the pervasive and persistent fear of violence and incarceration. Baby is featured in the video. The proceedings are kicked off by Chicago’s very own Lil Durk, who profiles in front of a police car and on a roof with his host and costar while providing a rundown of the events that have transpired over the course of the past year, ranging from spending less time with his family to making bond payments. Lil Baby drops jewels on the practices that keep him one step ahead of the game, hinting to a downtick in the number of guest features that he will be participating in, which would be a shame given his present reign of domination in that department. He does this by flashing racks and treating his bankrolls like confetti.

Voice of the Heroes” is the first single to be released from Lil Baby and Lil Durk’s collaborative album, which will be released on Friday, June 4 via Quality Control Music, Wolfpack Global Music, Motown Records, and Alamo Records. The song was produced by Touch of Trent and Haze. After Durk moved to Atlanta in 2018, the two began working together and rapidly developed a strong personal and professional friendship. During this time, they collaborated on a number of tracks together.
